News ReleasesMethamphetamine Addiction01/25/2010 Methamphetamine use on the rise Throughout the state of Wyoming it has been reported that drug and alcohol abuse and addiction is on the rise. Cocaine, marijuana, and particularly methamphetamine are readily available throughout the state and continue to be a problem for all residents. The entire state is in desperate need of finding proven, effective and successful drug rehab. Statistics have shown that methamphetamine is the most serious drug threat in Wyoming. In recent years, methamphetamine arrests have exceeded arrests for all other drugs, and is of great concern to Wyoming law enforcement due to its direct correlation with violent crime and criminal activity. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration Wyoming State Factsheet, Federal authorities seized 8.6 kilograms of methamphetamine in Wyoming. Methamphetamine abuse appears to be on the rise and residents of Wyoming are searching for solutions and answers. The judicial system and correctional facilities are becoming overcrowded with substance abuse offenders in the state of Wyoming. As of April 16, 2007, there were 20 drug courts in Wyoming that had been operating for at least two years, 3 that had recently been implemented and 2 that were being planned according to the Office of Justice Programs Drug Court Clearinghouse and Technical Assistance Project. Last year statistics show that 45.3% of federally sentenced defendants in Wyoming had committed drug offenses and more than half (52.4%) of these drug offenses involved methamphetamine. Drug courts has slightly deterred criminals and substance abusers from using drugs and alcohol but hasn't had a major impact or offered any real solutions. The only real solution and answer available right now is proven, effective and successful long-term inpatient residential drug rehab. The state of Wyoming is in distress and needs immediate help. The drug and alcohol problem, particularly methamphetamine, continues to devastate families and entire communities and seems to only be getting worse. The only real solution to this massive problem is proven, successful and effective long-term in-patient drug rehab facilities. During 2006, there were 5,354 admissions to drug and alcohol treatment in Wyoming. According to 2006-2007 National Survey on Drug Use and Health data, approximately 11,000 Wyoming citizens reported needing but not receiving treatment for illicit drug use within the past year. This program combines effective cognitive and objective therapy with life skills courses and also provides clients with an amazing sauna detoxification program that completely flushes the body of all toxins and drug residuals. This program has a success rate of over 70% of those who graduate the program and have continually saved thousands of lives for over four decades.
