The abuse of prescription drugs continues in Wyoming. The most commonly abused prescriptions include depressants and painkillers such as Valium, Percocet, Percodan, and Dilaudid.

A national survey done in 2003-2004 indicates that approximately 33,000 or over 7% of Wyoming citizens over 12 reported past month use of an illicit drug .
